wow..time flies while you have fun .. Beckam is a year old. We had his party today. All of our family was here and it was a nice time... I was putting Beckam to bed tonight and I just started to cry. My BABY is a year old. It is hard to believe. 365 days ago and it exact time I was in the hospital... walking...waiting for Beckam. I did not know it was Beckam at the time but I did have a good idea. We have been through so much in the last year. Beckam back in the hospital at 10 weeks of oage for pneumonia. Constant ear infections and now a very sick Granny. I seem to be getting more and more tired. Beckam in an angel. As I was rocking him again tonight he laid his head on my chest. I love this. He usually lays on me facing out..tonight he was facing me with his on my chest. He is getting so big. He is so beautiful. I know he is a boy but he can still be beautiful. and he is...

Big update....

Well, Where do I start. Emmilyne has turned 3, Beckam has turned 5 months and had his baptism and I have gone back to work. Yeah to it all.
Lets start with Emmilyne. She is 3! I hear it is the "old 2" as in the "terrible 2's " and I think that I would have to agree..... she can not seem to calm down on anything. She is running, talking, hiding, singing and I know.... being a kid... but she is always waking Beckam up. The boy never gets any sleep with her around.
She is in a pre-school called Whistle Stop. It is a private school and she is excelling at it.... she talks about her new friends: Hunter, Gracie, and Lizzie (all girls) but also talks about Jake... the two of them run on the playground. Don't get boy crazy yet... I think he just likes to run and hop and so does Emmilyne. But Carson had a birhtday this past week.... she has sung happy birthday to him all weekend. She is so sweet. She is hugging Chris and I. She also has this new thing that everytime she kisses us... well... she kisses both cheeks, our forehead and then our lips. Not sure if I did that a few times but now it is our thing... there could be worse habbits.
Beckam. Well he is 5 months old and was baptized earlier this month (the 12th). My sister and brother in law were here from Chicago, my parents from Kansas and Chris's family too. Julie, Jason, Cathy and Rick are all Godparents.
It was great to have everyone here and Chris and I are glad that it has been done. He, of course, was a beautiful baby. He is getting so big....he too just melts my heart.

He has started a day school program. He is attending the First Baptist Church day school. I really like it for him. The ratio is very low... 7:2 which makes me feel really good too. I like the ladies that have him in the morning but I LOVE the ladies that have him in the afternoon. They spoil him rotten....he is always in a great mood when I go and get him in the afternoon after work. He did wonderful at his 5 month check up. Growing like a weed. 14 pounds 12 ounces and 26 3/4 inches long... that is the 40% for weight and 75% for height.
He will be tall and slender. That is what a mama always wants for her boy.
Chris and I... well.. I wen back to work in late September. A job sorta fell into my lap and Chris and I could not pass up the opportunities that it would give us. I work at the corporate level of Marketing for three nursing homes in Dallas. I get to be at in my car all day long... (sometimes not a good thing) traveling to and from hospitals.. marketing and doing clinical assessments. Anyway it is never the same day twice and it keeps me busy. I think that working makes me a better wife and mom. It seems to "balance" me. I have more time... actually to be with the kids. The house is not as clean on the weekdays but it all gets caught up by Monday. Chris and I will celebrate 5 years of marriage on the 15th. Seems like yesterday we got married. he never ceases to amazing me in the things that he thinks of for me or the kids. I love him more today than I did the day we got married and I never thought that was possible. He has always stood beside me and held my hand and given me the two best presents a wife could ever ask for.

Emmilyne Turns 3!

Wow. Who would have thunk it. Our little girl turns 3! Her actual birthday was Tuesday, the 9th but her party is this Saturday, 13th. We are hoping to still have it.. we have Hurricane Ike bearing down on us and it could get a little "icky" but that is the plan.
Tuesday Emmilyne took "pancakes" to school for her class. What she means to say is cupcakes but she says pan instead. And Lord knows, you can not correct her. I think that it is cute. Daddy took her to school and picked her up... she was soooooo happy to see me and Beck when she got home. She told me all about her day. They sang to her and she got to do everything "first" at school for the day. I guess at 3 this is a big deal.
When Chris was loading her into the car, I could not help myself and a little tear went down my cheek. She is getting so big and is very independant. I guess that is how you want them but... she is getting there too quick for me.

I will post additional pictures after her party on Saturday.

Life

Have you ever had the feeling that you are on the outside looking in on your own life? I have had that feeling a few times this week. I am reading my friends blogs and noticing that I am not where they are. Why is that? A good friend of mine said just last week that she was in a "funk" and even her husband noticed. And she could not get out of it. My words to her were that it was going to be okay and that she would snap out of it. Well....hello. It is now my turn in "funkiville". I have rationalize it is Emmilyne is turning 3 next week or I am spending to much time at home(no money will do that to ya)or Texas heat or just miss working? Not sure.... can somebody snap me out of it?
I seem a little gloomie.... well... I am not. Just know that I am not my "cheerful" self.
Chris is trying to be support of but I think that he is in "funkiville" to. But he is just in the menotny of life...work, home, church, work, church, home. That is not good either.
Lot of stuff is coming up on our plates.... Emmilyne turns 3 next wee, Beckam has his baptism early October and our wedding anniversary (5th) is November. I am sure that funkiville will leave the Morrison's soon.... but has anyone seen Tinker Bell? I need a good dusting with Pixie dust!

Emmilyne's Ears

Emmilyne had her second set of tubes placed on the 19th. She had a horrible infection at the time and was "demon child" after the surgery. I am happy to say that she is doing better now and is no longer that demon. She is just 2 and a half. lol

Thank God for Dr. Wyatt and his team. I am not sure what we would have done without him. Emmilyne has had such bad infections and has been delayed in her speech. She is cathing up and we are hoping with enrolling her in a preschool program that the learning and catching up will continue.

Another Trip to Kansas?

I know, I know. We go to Kansas alot. This trip added new excitement. Emmilyne is potty training. She has been on it for about 3 weeks and is doing very well. Her potty was added to teh trunk so we could stop in the middle of no-where if need be.... well we did. It is called Oklahoma.
Well....Granny and Paw Paw love seeing the kids. But this trip was something even more special. We got to visit Uncle Micah and meet Aunt Patti.

Meet Aunt Patti....wow... they have been married a year but we had not met her yet. In May of 2007 we could not afford to go to Detroit to the reception and it is too far to drive from Dallas to Detroit so we had to wait. They were heading to Kansas to see the folks and we got to go too! Emmilyne starting talking about Patti as soon as we got in the car. She hit if off with Aunt Patti.
Even helped her blow out her birthday candles... Emmilyne was so excited...she kept saying her cake... we had to explain that her birthday is next month... September.
I was very happy to see my brother. I don't get to see him near enough. Tears came to my eyes when he held my kids and Emmilyne gave him a kiss. She has always said the two of them in her prayers at night... now she know who they are.

Emmilyne loves to swim and got to swim in mom's pool too.... It was a little cold...they were having a cool front so it was only about 75 degrees each day. Emmilyne does not care about the water tempature, just as long as she gets to "go swimming" and "jump". She and Micah also blew bubbles in the backyard. Emmilyne now "LOVES" her Uncle Micah... they did bubbles for about a hour!
We had a great time as you can see by the many photos... we did not leave until later on Sunday and had a chance to go feed the ducks at the local park. One thing that Mom always does with Emmilyne and Emmilyne loves it. We all went this time. It was very nice.

One rule I think we learned.... never leave Kansas to come home at 7:30 in the evening. lol
